25 Years of Fireblade Ministries

Back in 1994 I came to a crossroads in my life and wanted to know I was in God’s Will, so I decided to set up a ministry related to the hobby I was passionate about – motorbikes. The name I thought of was Fireblade Ministries.

The meaning behind the name was that ‘Fire’ represents the Holy Spirit and ‘Blade’ of course signifies the Word of God, the Bible. So the real meaning was to take the Word of God to the whosoever through the Holy Spirit.

As it was the trademark of Honda motorcycles I decided to write and ask Honda for permission. Needless to say there were a lot of doubters. Many people said that Honda would never grant my request, but God was in all of this. Honda were in fact very supportive and ever since then myself and friends have traveled many miles sharing God’s Love of Salvation.

One day in 1996, I met a representative from Honda at a local motorcycle show. He was very interested in our work for the Lord. Some time later he rang me to offer me a free Fireblade Motorcycle to use for the ministry. After a few weeks of praying and seeking the Lord’s Will, I declinedthe offer. My main reason was simple, I didn’t want people thinking I’d set up the ministry to get a free motorcycle. Out of the blue a couple of months later he rang me again to say he had Fireblade motorcycles on offer and I could have one for only £6,000.

Although I was scared at the amount of money involved as I’ve always and still do to this day, in everything, trust the Lord to meet the need and not the greed, yet again the Lord confirmed his will for my life and made it possible in a number of different ways – Manna – God’s provision.

When the motorcycle arrived, not knowing or planned, it had a very special number plate N.18.8 GLY. The first part N.18.8 I thought of Numbers chapter 18 verse 8. When I looked it up, it read: “Then the Lord said to Aaron, I myself have put you in charge of the offerings made to me.” This helped and confirmed to me the Lord was at the fore. Youcan make GLY spell God Loves You.

The Lord has continued to bless and encourage me and my friends in many different ways as we convey God’s Love of Salvation to bikers and non bikers everywhere he leads us. The Fireblade and its number plate are often the opportunity to begin and share the reality that God loves us and that he gave his son so that we can have eternal life.

Since 1994, the Lord has guided me and all involved in Fireblade Ministries and continues to do so to this day. A number of years ago now with the Lord’s guidance, we were able to produce and make available copies of the Bible. Praise God for all who have received a Bible.
