Altin Hysi is currently General Secretary of the Inter–confessional Bible Society of Albania but, in the 1990s, he was a refugee from the Albanian dictatorship when he came to faith.
He is from a Muslim background, is married and has two small children. Albania remains the second poorest country in Europe but Altin leads a vibrant ministry among the Albanian churches and also pastors a church in Tirana.
