The privilege of a Christian upbringing impacted Derek’s life for God. As a child he was converted and during his early life enjoyed attending missionary meetings where he was confronted with God’s call to Christian service.
Before joining Slavic Gospel Association [UK] in 2002, Derek pastored two congregations in Northern Ireland. In the Mission he first served as Northern Ireland Regional Representative, until his appointment as Field Director in 2004. This was followed by his appointment as General Director in 2009, a position he currently holds.
He is committed to maintaining the Mission’s Biblical ethos and vision of reaching Slavic nations with the Gospel. He also engages in extensive deputation work throughout Northern Ireland and in other parts of the British Isles.
He continues to exercise a wider ministry of teaching, preaching and lecturing throughout Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Derek is married to Carole and they have two children.
