Faith in South Sudan
The Church’s Response to Crisis. Friday 19th May The special guest is Bishop Anthony Poggo, who until recently was Bishop of Kajo–Keji Diocese in South Sudan.
Amidst a worsening crisis, the Church in South Sudan continues to offer help, hope and healing to those affected by political upheaval, war and famine.
What about us? In addition to supporting emergency appeals, how best can we respond? How can churches in Ireland stand with our brothers and sisters in South Sudan and support them at this time?
CMSI warmly invites you to this special event, which seeks to provide:
✦ An overview of the wider context of the crisis
✦ Insights into how the Church in South Sudan is responding
✦ A chance for individuals and churches in Ireland to consider their response
✦ An opportunity to pray for South Sudan and for the Church there
Our guest speaker will be Bishop Anthony Poggo, who is the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Adviser on Anglican Communion Affairs and was formerly Bishop of Kajo–keji Diocese in South Sudan.
The event, which starts at 7:30pm, will also include a Q&A panel and will conclude with refreshments.
Grosvenor Hall is located at 5 Glengall Street in Belfast city centre – right beside Great Victoria train station and Europa Bus Station, as well as numerous car parks.
For catering purposes, we’d be grateful if you could let us know whether you hope to attend. Please contact our Belfast office (details below) or add a comment below.
