José was born into a nominal Roman Catholic family in the town of Alcázar de San Juan which is in central Spain.
During his early teenage years an EMF missionary encouraged José to read the Gospel of John. This was the first step in a process that brought about his conversion to Christ. In 1989 he and his wife Virtudes came to the UK to study with EMF. Returning to Spain, José was appointed pastor of his home church in Alcázar. The couple have two daughters, Gloria and Paula.
The ongoing work of preaching and evangelism takes up a large proportion of Jose’s time and has proved an immense encouragement over recent years. Numerical growth has been sustained in the church which has been blessed with a number of conversions. José is also a regular contributor on Spanish television, has written several books, and is a popular conference speaker at both home and abroad.
