June 2023 Prayer Update
As we enjoy some warm spring sunshine, we reflect on the successful launch events and look forward to our summer convention and all the events and speakers that we have to look forward to in August. If you recently signed up to receive these emails, thank you and we hope you find them a useful guide to the Convention and global mission in general.
THEME
ARISE SHINE
Thanks to everyone who joined us for our launch events in Bangor and Belfast as we shared our programme details under the theme of Arise Shine. Check out our socials to see all the photographs. You can also listen again if you were unable to be there. Our thanks to Dr Sinclair Ferguson for his wise words and challenging message.
EVENT
IF PRISON WALLS COULD SPEAK
One of the highlights of the programme will be the Northern Ireland and Ireland première of If prison walls could speak a play run in partnership with Release International and performed by the Artless Theatre Company. The one-man hybrid multimedia performance production will first be performed in Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church on Saturday 19th August. This is a play about the imprisonment of a Christian believer in a Sudanese jail and due to the nature of the content, is only suitable for children over 12. Tickets need to be purchased online (£5) from the website in advance and numbers are limited.
2023 CONVENTION
PROMO VIDEO
We would appreciate churches showing our promotional Bible study video featuring Rev Dr Chris Wright introducing himself. He is preparing to deliver a series in the book of Isaiah during the summer Convention.
EVENT
WORLDWIDE KIDS
Exciting the next generation of mission-hearted believers is so important to Bangor Worldwide. We’re delighted to partner with CEF to run a programme for all primary age children from Monday to Friday starting at 11am and finishing at 1pm during the Convention.
POINTS FOR PRAYER
LAUNCH
EVENTS
We have much to thank God for, in His answers to our prayers. These include; the inspirational ministry of our speaker, Dr Sinclair Ferguson, nearly 100 pastors, clergy etc attending the brunches, a packed church for our evening meeting, and an excellent response from students for their event in Windsor Baptist. We are encouraged by the positive feedback from those who attended these events and pray that the enthusiasm will be carried through to the Convention in August.
COMMITTEE
MEETING
Please pray for us as we prepare to meet on the 14th June to review the various launch meetings and learn lessons for the future. We will also take time to think about conventions beyond 2023.
VOLUNTEERS
The convention can only take place with the help of many people who volunteer their time to assist in a myriad of ways - distributing leaflets, stewarding, serving in the Global Village, hosting, chauffeuring, helping in creche etc. Please pray that the right folk will come forward again this year so that we will have enough people to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
