Maud Kells wins accolades in Belfast
Injured missionary Maud Kells, who was shot in January in a botched robbery whilst serving in the Congo, has won two awards for her remarkable courage and bravery.
Maud returned home safely to Cookstown in late February attracting much media attention all over Ireland. She was shortlisted for two Belfast Telegraph Woman of the Year Awards winning both the most inspirational Woman of the year as well as overall Woman of the Year title.
Maud began her service with WEC International back in 1968. She initially worked as a missionary nurse but has recently been involved in the training of Congolese nurses in five hospitals and 30 health centres.
