Max and his wife, Susan, joined Mission Aviation Fellowship in October, 1971. They worked for twelve years in Ethiopia and Kenya, where Max was a pilot. Since then, he has held various senior roles in MAF based from the UK.
Passionate about reaching the most vulnerable and remote peoples of the world with the gospel, he is enthusiastic that aircraft can be used to bring them an opportunity to live life in all its fullness.
Max has been responsible for opening new flight programmes in Madagascar, Uganda, Namibia, Bangladesh, Mongolia and Liberia, as well as having input to Chad, Cambodia, South Africa, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Central Asia.
During the past 43 years, Max also served for 22 years as a board member of Medair, a Christian emergency relief and recovery organisation.
Based in Canterbury, they have four daughters and nineteen grandchildren and are heavily involved in their local church.
