As we start a new month in which we will celebrate the Risen Lord, we remember the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross with thankful and obedient hearts.

COLIN SPENCE

It is with sadness we record the death of our esteemed former committee member, Colin Spence. We will feel his loss keenly - he had been an enthusiastic member for many years and had previously served in a youth development capacity. We remember his family in our prayers at this difficult time.

POINTS FOR PRAYER

Colin
Spence

It was in our update for April 2018 that we first asked for prayer for Colin Spence and his family. Without any previous warning, he had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer and it was therefore a major shock to all who knew him. Supported by the prayers of many from around the world, and with the devoted help of his wife Winnie and their three boys, Colin fought the illness courageously over many painful months.

However, on the 18th March Colin passed on to his eternal reward. We at Bangor Worldwide will feel his loss keenly. He had been an enthusiastic member of the committee for many years and had previously served in a youth development capacity. He was always bringing forward new ideas about how to do things at the convention and was a constant source of suggestions for speakers especially from the persecuted church. We benefited greatly from his input in these and other areas.

Please pray for Winnie and the boys at this time of grieving and adjustment and pray for the convention committee as we seek to press on with the work and to build on the legacy which Colin has left.

Monday Morning
Prayer Meeting

Give thanks to God for the recent growth in the numbers attending this meeting which was started to give prayer support for the convention and is now in its 81st year. The very existence of the meeting is a particular encouragement to the convention committee and to see attendances increasing is a real joy.

Give thanks, also, for the dedicated leadership of the meeting given by Eric Lindsay.

Please pray for the invitations which will be sent out in the next week to the mission agencies for the evening meeting on the 22nd May.

We plan to have a mini Global Village at the launch and a strong representation of agencies is essential for this.
