Ramez is the General Secretary of the Bible Society of Egypt and was the programme chair for the 2010 Lausanne III World Congress in Cape Town, South Africa and is one of the Deputy Chairmen of the Lausanne Movement.
In his teens he emigrated to Canada and was active in leadership of the McGill Christian Fellowship. During the seventies he pioneered the Groupes Bibliques Universitaires in Quebec and in 1980 returned to Egypt with Rebecca and their two children where he led the IFES ministry there.
Since then, he has been General Secretary of the Bible Society of Egypt, an organization which exercises a pivotal role in Christian ministry.
