Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day,11th November, is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth countries since the end of World War I in 1918. November is also a very poignant month for UFM as a mission.
Hostilities formally ended “at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month”.
It is also a day on which we remember all the other members of the armed forces who, since then, have died in the line of duty.
November is also a very poignant month for UFM as a mission as, in November 1960, the Belgian Congo gained independence. Read more on this in the UFM autumn magazine.
