Lebanon–born Rita joined SAT–7 in 1996 after working for FEBA Radio. She started as a writer and presenter of children’s programmes which developed into the 24/7 SAT–7 KIDS channel. She is also the long–time host of the popular children’s programme Bedtime Stories withRita. After serving as Executive Director of Arabic Channels, in 2015 she was appointed Chief Channels and Communications Officer, responsible for all SAT–7’s channels. In 2019 she succeeded Dr Terence Ascott as CEO and is now based in Cyprus.
She says her progression to presenting on TV came easily as she “came from a family where we naturally told stories. During the Lebanese civil war when we didn’t have electricity my Dad would tell us stories. So SAT–7 used my natural skills.”
