The church in Sri Lanka

Ajith Fernando, who took our Bible Readings several years ago has written asking for prayer for the church in his native Sri Lanka.

He writes,

“The situation faced by churches doing evangelism remains very serious. The churches of many of the people I have been ministering to recently are meeting in homes in groups of two or three families rather than in a church service. Attacks continue. Pray that the believers would stand firm and grow and that God would deepen the church through this experience of persecution. Pray also for more commitment to upholding religious freedom from the authorities.”
