The people of Nepal have been left devastated after an earthquake hit on Saturday 25th April.Over 8 million people have been affected by the quake with over a million in need of urgent humanitarian assistance. Some churches in Kathmandu, Sindhpalchok and Kavre districts have been damaged or destroyed. Pray for this nation as they mourn loved ones, seek shelter and try to rebuild their lives after the quake....

To encourage the interest in missions among our young people, we have agreed to support a programme of combined youth events to take place throughout the Winter / Spring session in Hamilton Road Baptist Church.These will have a variety of mission speakers and are being arranged by local youth pastors. They are open to all youth groups to come along to. The Foundation for Reconciliation and Relief in the Middle East headed by Canon Andrew White, have launched a new video on their work.Brother Andrews ministry is vital to the Iraqi Christian refugees fleeing the violence and persecution of the wars engulfing the region. His heart and mission is not just to provide needed aid and support to the refugees but to share the Love of Christ, personally encouraging each family they support. Our plans for the main meetings are well advanced.Please pray that there will be positive responses to the invitations which are being issued to prospective speakers this month, and also that we will know Gods mind for the outstanding aspects of the programme which have yet to be finalised....

Bangor Worldwide, together with a number of the other major conventions which take place each year in the Province, have been working together for the last few years to try and interest the government and tourist bodies in assisting with joint publicity.The group is to meet the Minister and senior officials responsible for this area later in the month and would ask for prayer that the meeting will go well and have a positive outcome....

Remember the committee and trustees as they meet this month to consider 2015 and future conventions.Please pray for the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to ensure that any decisions we might make are in line with Gods will for the Convention....

One of our speakers at the Convention in 2014 was from Nepal and he told about the work among disabled folk in Kathmandu.God was using to build His church across the country. Please remember Bikash Adhikari and his fellow workers at this stressful time in the aftermath of the earthquake....

Finally, give thanks for the safe return from a successful trip to Irian Jaya, filming for UFM, by our committee member Jonathan Sanlon.God answered many prayers as trip went very smoothly and we look forward to seeing the results in due course....

While preparations for the launch event will be a major item on the agenda, we will also be giving thought to the programme for the closing night of the Convention at the Waterfront Hall.Please pray that we will be open to the prompting of the Holy Spirit in this so that what is presented on that evening will be both uplifting and challenging for those who attend....

Continue to pray for the committee as we finalise the programme for 2015.Most aspects are now in place but we are looking at one or two new initiatives to complete the programme and as ever need guidance to make the right decisions on these....

The invitations have now been issued and responses are coming in.Please continue to pray that many will make the effort to attend which will help to distribute our literature out to churches etc. Pray for our speaker the Very Rev. Dr. Trevor Morrow as he prepares what he will say and also for those attending to the catering. Pray for inspiration as to what else we might do that day to make the Convention known to a wider audience....

Please pray for a Worldwide sponsored youth event to be held in Hamilton Road Baptist Church on Friday 27th February.Remember Keith McIlwaine and the other organisers as they plan for the night and that it will be used to open young hearts and minds to mission....

Give thanks for the encouraging level of financial support which Bangor Worldwide received in 2015.Although the total of c 150,000 was slightly down on last year, it is still a considerable sum which we have the pleasure of distributing to over 140 mission agencies. Pray that this money will be an encouragement to these agencies and assist them in their work for the Lord....

We have been informed that the BBC ( Radio Ulster ) are to do a live broadcast of the Sunday morning service at Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church on 23rd August during the first weekend of the Convention.We have begun working with the Church on the content of the service which will include Worldwide speakers. This is the first time the Convention has had the opportunity to reach literally tens of thousands of listeners in this way and so we would ask for prayer for those involved in the planning...
